Key Features:
- 10-bit Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter with on-board sample and hold circuitry
- Add 8 channels of 10-bit analog input to your microcontroller
- Easy to use
- Only 4 pins required
Need to add analog inputs? This chip will add 8 channels of 10-bit analog input to your microcontroller or microcomputer project. It's super easy to use, and uses SPI so only 4 pins are required. We chose this chip as a great accompaniment to the Raspberry Pi computer, because its fun to have analog inputs but the Pi does not have an ADC. The MCP3008 is programmable to provide four pseudo-differential input pairs or eight single-ended inputs. Low-current design permits operation with typical standby currents of only 5 nA and typical active currents of 320 uA
