One software for 3D scanning, photogrammetry, reverse engineering and inspection

Artec Studio 20 is Artec 3D's professional software for capturing and processing 3D data. It runs every current Artec scanner, builds models from photos with AI Photogrammetry, and takes your data all the way to clean meshes, measurements, inspection reports and CAD-ready geometry.

Autopilot guides new users through scanning and processing in a few steps, while manual mode gives experienced users full control. New in Artec Studio 20: custom workflows that Artec says speed up processing by up to 70%, HD mode for the Micro II, Autopilot for the Spider II, and improved masking for AI Photogrammetry.

What you can do in Artec Studio

Multi-resolution fusion

Register scans from different Artec devices in one click. Capture a wide area with the Ray II, add fine detail with the Leo or Spider II, and combine the best resolution from each in a single mesh.

AI Photogrammetry

Build detailed 3D models from photos or video taken with any camera-equipped device, including a phone, and combine them with scanner data in the same project.

Scan-to-CAD

Fit primitives to your scan, position it precisely, and save key geometry as a STEP file for SOLIDWORKS, or send complex meshes to Geomagic Design X in one click.

Quality control

Compare scans against CAD or fitted primitives, analyze section by section, and check mesh-to-CAD deviation to find design and manufacturing issues quickly.

Precision editing

Make meshes watertight and lightweight, thicken surfaces, find defects, and clean data with tools built for reverse engineering and 3D printing.

Automation

Custom and preset workflows, Smart Base Removal, Auto Glare Removal and enhanced color reproduction cut the manual editing between scan and result.

Works with every current Artec scanner

Artec Studio runs structured-light, LiDAR and target-based laser scanners, plus a selection of previous Artec models. Data from different devices merges in one project.

License options

Frequently asked questions

What is Artec Studio?

Artec Studio is Artec 3D's professional software for 3D scanning, AI photogrammetry, mesh processing, reverse engineering and inspection. It runs every current Artec scanner, from the Micro II and Spider II to the Leo, Ray II and Jet, and turns raw scans or photos into clean meshes, point clouds, measurements and CAD-ready data.

How much does Artec Studio cost?

Artec publishes US prices of $1,700 for an Artec Studio Pro subscription (billed annually) and $4,300 for a Pro Lifetime license. Multi-year subscriptions and multiple-license packages are quoted on request. As a Gold-Certified reseller we can quote current pricing and education packages.

What is the difference between the subscription and the Lifetime license?

Both include 3D scan capture and processing, AI photogrammetry, editing, reverse engineering and inspection tools, wider export, and 24/7 support. The subscription also includes ongoing feature updates and new algorithms plus scripting. The Lifetime license is a one-time payment with permanent access to the version you buy, without scripting or later major feature updates.

Which scanners does Artec Studio support?

Artec Eva, Jet, Leo, Metrology Kit, Micro II, Neo, Point II, Ray II and Spider II, plus a selection of previous Artec models. Data from different Artec scanners can be combined in one project with multi-resolution fusion.

Do I need an Artec scanner to use Artec Studio?

No. AI Photogrammetry builds 3D models from photos or video taken with any camera-equipped device, including a phone. A scanner adds speed and accuracy, and the two methods can be combined in the same project.

What computer do I need for Artec Studio?

Artec lists Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit only), an Intel Core i7 or i9 (12th generation or newer), at least 32 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GPU with at least 6 GB of VRAM as the minimum. Large projects and Ray II or Jet data benefit from more RAM and a stronger GPU.

What file formats can Artec Studio export?

Meshes, point clouds, measurements and CAD primitives, in formats including OBJ, STL and STEP. Data flows on to reverse engineering and inspection software such as Geomagic Design X, Geomagic Control X and PolyWorks|Inspector, all available from 3DMakerWorld.

Should I use Artec Studio or Artec Twins?

Artec Studio is the everyday tool for scanning, processing, reverse engineering and inspection, from small parts up to rooms and vehicles. Artec Twins is Artec's separate software for very large LiDAR datasets, such as large buildings and sites captured with the Artec Jet or Ray II. It builds on Artec Studio's algorithms and adds Gaussian splatting and tools for very large datasets.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Artec offers a free 30-day trial with full access to Artec Studio Pro, though projects cannot be saved or exported during the trial. We can also walk you through Artec Studio on your own data in a live demo.

Is 3DMakerWorld an official Artec 3D reseller?

Yes. 3DMakerWorld is an official Gold-Certified Artec 3D Reseller, the highest tier of Artec reseller authorization, with offices in Naperville, IL and Lenexa, KS. We use Artec Studio daily in our own scanning service work and provide demos, training and US-based support.
